I am having a summer themed party and would love some neat appetizer recipes that are not the same old recipes that most people have at parties.I am wanting some fun summer themed appetizer recipes. HELP!!?
Fruit-Salad Skewers: take chunks of pineapple, watermelon, canteloupe, honeydew melon, granny smith apples, grapes and load them onto skewers, place in fridge to get icy-cold before serving
CUCUMBER-CARROT PINWHEELS
whole cucumbers, unpeeled
whole carrots, peeled
Cut cucumber in 3'; lengths. Hollow out seeded middle section. Push a carrot into the hollowed out center of the cucumber.Slice the cucumber/carrot wheels into 1/2-inch slices. You
end up with a cucumber slice with a carrot center. Looks very attractive as a garnish and is fat free and tasty!!TIP: Try scoring the cucumber skin before cutting for an even more interesting look. Run a fork lengthwise down the cucumber skin all around the cucumber.Serve with Ranch dipping sauce.
3 Musketeers Puffs
3 Three Musketeers candy bars
1 package Pillsbury Crescents
Slice candy bars into 8 pieces. Unfold crescents. Place one
piece of candy in the center of each crescent. Fold crescent
around candy, being sure to cover all of it. Pinch seams closed.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 degree F oven
until golden brown, about 11 minutes. Serve warm.
Tomato-Mozarella Bites
20 grape or cherry tomatoes, halved
20 fresh basil leaves
20 small balls fresh mozzarella cheese (often labeled bocconcini)
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
20 toothpicks
Using a toothpick, spear a half of a tomato, a piece of basil, a mozzarella ball, and another half of a tomato. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Place on a serving dish and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Mix the vinegar and oil together in a small bowl to serve as a dipping sauce.
Appetizer Kabobs
Kabob skewers
40 cocktail smokies
20 cubes mozarella cheese
20 cubes cheddar cheese
40 jumbo black olives
Warm cocktail smokies. Cut kabob skewers in half. Thread each half-skewer in this order 1 black olive, 1 cube mozarella, 1 cocktail smokie, 1 cube cheddar cheese, 1 cocktail smokie, 1 black olive. Makes 20 kabobs.
Layered Pesto and Red Pepper Dip
1 tub (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Light Cream Cheese Spread, divided
1/4 cup chopped drained roasted red peppers
1 Tbsp. pesto
1 Tbsp. milk
WHEAT THINS Snack Crackers
PLACE half of the cream cheese spread and the peppers in blender; cover. Blend 30 to 40 sec. or until well blended, stopping and scraping down side of blender as needed. MIX remaining cream cheese spread, the pesto and milk until well blended. Spread onto small serving plate; top with the red pepper mixture. Cover. INGREDIENTS
2 kiwis, peeled and diced
2 Golden Delicious apples - peeled, cored and diced
8 ounces raspberries
1 pound strawberries
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
3 tablespoons fruit preserves, any flavor
10 (10 inch) flour tortillas
butter flavored cooking spray
2 cups cinnamon sugar
DIRECTIONS
In a large bowl, thoroughly mix kiwis, Golden Delicious apples, raspberries, strawberries, white sugar, brown sugar and fruit preserves. Cover and chill in the refrigerator at least 15 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Coat one side of each flour tortilla with butter flavored cooking spray. Cut into wedges and arrange in a single layer on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle wedges with desired amount of cinnamon sugar. Spray again with cooking spray.
Bake in the preheated oven 8 to 10 minutes. Repeat with any remaining tortilla wedges. Allow to cool approximately 15 minutes. Serve with chilled fruit and spice mixture.
Crab Tartlets
INGREDIENTS
3 (2.1 ounce) packages frozen miniature phyllo tart shells
1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
2 eggs
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup half-and-half cream
1 green onion, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 (6 ounce) can crabmeat - drained, flaked and cartilage removed
DIRECTIONS
Place tart shells on an ungreased baking sheet. Sprinkle Swiss cheese into each shell. In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Spoon a teaspoonful of crab mixture into each tart shell. Bake at 375 degrees F for 18-20 minutes or until pastry is browned. Serve warm.
Sausage Mushroom Appetizers
INGREDIENTS
48 large fresh mushrooms
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 pound bulk pork sausage, cooked and crumbled
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1/4 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
2 teaspoons spicy brown mustard or horseradish mustard
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
DIRECTIONS
Remove mushroom stems (discard or save for another use); set caps aside. In a large bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. Stuff into the mushroom caps. Place in two greased 13-in. x 9-in. x 2-in. baking dishes. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 16-20 minutes or until heated through.
Honey Lime Fruit Toss
INGREDIENTS
1 (20 ounce) can unsweetened pineapple chunks
1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
2 medium firm bananas, sliced
2 kiwifruit, peeled, halved, and sliced
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 teaspoon grated lime peel
DIRECTIONS
Drain pineapple, reserving 1/4 cup juice; set juice aside. In a bowl, combine the pineapple, mandarin oranges, strawberries, bananas and kiwi. In a small bowl, combine the lime juice, honey, lime peel and reserved pineapple juice. Pour over fruit; gently toss to coat.
Makes 6 servings, multiply as needed.

Wrap-and-Roll Basil Pinwheels
Ingredients
3 7- or 8-inch flour tortillas
1 5.2-ounce carton Boursin cheese or one 5-ounce container semi soft cheese with garlic and herbs
12 large fresh basil leaves
1/2 of a 7-ounce jar roasted red sweet peppers, cut into 1/4-inch wide strips
4 ounces thinly sliced cooked roast beef, pork, ham, or turkey
1 tablespoon mayonnaise or salad dressing
Fresh basil leaves (optional)
Directions
1. Spread each flour tortilla with 1/3 of the Boursin cheese or semisoft cheese with garlic and herbs. Add a layer of the large basil leaves to cover cheese. Divide roasted red sweet pepper strips between the tortillas; arrange roasted red pepper strips over the basil leaves 1 to 2 inches apart. Top with meat slices. Spread 1 teaspoon mayonnaise or salad dressing over the meat on each tortilla. Roll up the tortillas tightly, into a spiral, enclosing the filling. Wrap each roll in plastic wrap. Chill the tortilla rolls in the refrigerator 2 to 4 hours to blend flavors.
2. To serve, remove the rolls from the refrigerator. Remove the plastic wrap from the tortilla rolls; cut each of the rolls into 1-inch slices (make diagonal slices, if desired). Garnish with the remaining basil leaves, if desired. Skewer each of the cut tortilla rolls on frilly picks or on short decorative skewers, if desired. Makes about 24 pinwheels.
Shanghai Cocktail Franks
1 (18-ounce) jar grape jelly
1 (5-ounce) bottle TABASCO庐 brand SWEET %26amp; Spicy Pepper Sauce
1 (1-pound) package cocktail franks
Place jelly and TABASCO庐 SWEET %26amp; Spicy Sauce in a saucepan over medium heat and stir until melted. Add cocktail franks and bring to a simmer; reduce heat and cook 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and serve with toothpicks. This is a great recipe for a slow cooker.
Makes 8 appetizer servings
PARMESAN CHEESE PULL-APARTS
1/4 C butter
3/4 tsp celery salt
3/4 tsp parsley flakes
1/2 tsp dill weed
1/2 tsp instant minced onion
Parmesan cheese
1 pkg refrigerator biscuits
Melt butter in an 8-inch round pan. Add all the spices. Stir together.
Quarter each biscuit and put in the pan. Stir untill pieces ar thoroughly coated. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and bake 12 to 15 minutes at 425 degrees

Strawberry Angel Food Dessert
INGREDIENTS
* 1 (10 inch) angel food cake
* 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
* 1 cup white sugar
* 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
* 1 quart fresh strawberries, sliced
* 1 (18 ounce) jar strawberry glaze
DIRECTIONS
1. Crumble the cake into a 9x13 inch dish.
2. In a medium bowl, cream cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy. Fold in whipped topping. Mash the cake down with your hands and spread the cream cheese mixture over the cake.
3. In a bowl, combine strawberries and glaze until strawberries are evenly coated. Spread over cream cheese layer. Chill until serving.

Shrimp plate - Spread a layer of cream cheese on a platter, next cover the cream cheese with a thin layer of cocktail sauce, now neatly cover the top with shrimp (we buy the canned tiny shrimp) serve with ritz crackers. Always a favorite.
Cream Cheese roll ups - Mix cream cheese, minced black olives, shredded cheddar cheese, and jalepeno pepper (if desired). Spread mixture on soft tortilla shell, roll up, and cut into 3/4 inch pieces.
Taco Plate- (always the favorite at any party) Spread Sourcream mixed with 1/2 packet of taco seasoning on bottom of platter. The next layer is 1lb of taco seasoned hamburger, then add a layer of shredded lettuce, a layer of shredded cheddar cheese, and finally sprinkle minced black olives over the top. Serve with Tortilla chips.
Pickle roll ups - Buy deli sliced ham, spread layer of cream cheese on the ham, roll pickle up in ham and cut into 3/4 inch pieces. YUM my favorite

Jalapeno Crab Dip
1 pound Crab meat
1 teaspoon Garlic, fresh, chopped
1/2 cup Pickled jalapenos
1/4 pound Cheese, Monteray Jack
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Hot sauce
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1/2 cup Mayonnaise
~ Parmesan cheese
Chop the Jalapenos and grate the cheese.
Combine all ingredients except the Parmesan cheese.
Sprinkle the Parmesan over cheese mixture.
Bake at 350 about 25 minutes. Remove and let sit for 5 minutes.
Stuffed Jalapenos are always a great success. You can mix the cream cheese with chives, breakfast sausage, and wrap with bacon grill or bake in oven Good Luck!
