I make mini egg rolls with the wonton wrappers. They are a hit wherever I go. Mix two packages of ground chicken, with 3 cloves chopped garlic, 1 head of napa cabbage (chopped fine), 2 bunches of scallions (chopped), salt, pepper, a few dashes of soy sauce. Fill each wrapper with about 1 teaspon of mixture. It really helps if you have someone helping you. Fry them in about 1/2 inch of oil. They are delicious. I ususally get 4 packages of wonton wrappers. There are usually 50 wrappers in each package.
You can freeze these also.
Also, you can also add shrimp, water chestnuts to the recipe.
my husbands family always takes ham lunch meat and smears cream cheese on it and wraps it around a pickle. then you slice it. they are pretty good.
Not sure what crab ragoon is. I like crab pizza. Spread 8 oz of cream cheese on a plate, cover with a layer of cocktail sauce (I like Heinz) and sprinkle a small can of crabmeat over it to look like the pizza cheese. Serve with an assortment of crackers and a couple knives.
Wonton wrappers...how about fried ravioli? Or, why not an Italian style antipasto platter with marinated veggies, meats and cheeses?
The easiest one I can come with Does NOT require wonton wrappers.
You get Tortilla shells
Spread Cream Cheese over it and then get different meats and cheese from the deli. SLICED THIN. You do One or 2 layers of meat and cheese on top of the cream cheese (if you do 2 layers then you want to put another thin layer of cream cheese so it holds together), roll it up and then cut in the thickness you want. Hold together with either decorative toothpicks or regular toothpicks if they don't want to hold together.
make mini nachos (In individual tortilla cups, they're bite size. they're called tostitos scoops)
deviled eggs.
Cheese (any cheese) and ground sausage stuffed filo dough (baked)
Soysauce Shrimp stuffed in wonton wrappers (baked and brushed with olive oil or butter, prefered butter).
Four easy delicious appetizers. Enjoy. Merry Christmas.
My Mom created these tasty treats - I have no name for them, but they are delicious.
Mix together in a bowl:
1 - 2 packages cream cheese
1 can saur kraut (small one)
Microwave and cut into bits the little sausage links - use as many links as you'd like (all 10 or 5).
Salt and Pepper to taste
You can adjust the ingredients according to how many wonton wrappers you have.
Fill the wrappers, seal, deep fry. Makes a tasty treat.
Bacon Wrapped Water Chesnuts:
1 package bacon - cooked
Whole water chesnuts
Wrap pieces of bacon around water chesnuts and ';seal'; with a toothpick. Bake at 350 for 15 - 20 minutes, depending on how brown you want the bacon.
Why don't you make shrimps cocktail. The advantage is that you can prepare it before and keep it very easily in a tupperwear! You just need to add some salad and limon before surving... easy, tasty and quick done.
Take big shrimps (frozen ones are fine for this dish), grill them with olive oil and add salt, pepper and yellow curry powder. Once cooked let them cool down. Then prepare the cocktail sauce: do a mayonnaise: 1 egg (only yellow), 1 1/2 teaspoon of mustard, sunflower oil, garlic powder, pepper and salt. Put first the yellow in a bowl, with the mustard and the garlic, pepper and salt... mix this all together, then start to add slowly by slowy the oil until the desired amount of mayonnaise. Once finished, add: concentrated tomatoe paste (1 big spoon of it) and 1 or half a spoon of harissa... some people add some alcohol, like cognac... but I don't like it too much! Mix everything together, adjust to your taste and mix with the shrimps (cold). Prepare everything a few hours before going to the party, not the day before! Very tasty!
