I love the pickle roll ups----take cream chez and spread it on ham or corn beef and roll up with a pickle in the middle--awesome!
Ok I have the one that will take the cake!!!
Buy a family size box of triscuits, shredded Swiss cheese, dried onions, and salad dressing. Trust ME!!! It tastes GREAT!
Take a cookie sheet and put the triscuits on laying flat over the whole sheet. Then take about 3 Tablespoons of the dried onions and put them in a small bowl with some water to blow up, set aside. Then in a bowl mix the bag of shredded Swiss cheese and about 5-6 Tablespoons of salad dressing (make sure you put enough salad dressing in to make all the cheese moist). When the onions are all blown up, mix them into the cheese mixture. Then place globs of the cheese mix over the crackers covering all the crackers. Turn the oven on 350 and throw them in. they should take about 10 - 15 minutes. You'll know when their done, because the top of the cheese turns a little golden brown.
YUMMY!
Tortilla chips with salsa and/or guacamole. Guacamole is really easy to make, just mash up a couple ripe avocados, mix in some finely chopped onion and garlic, add chopped tomato (squeeze the seeds out first), a bit of fresh lime juice, and salt and pepper. Don't buy the pre-made stuff.
Cut up a baguette or loaf of italian/french bread. On a plate pour some good olive oil, Kraft parmesan cheese, and black pepper for dipping.
Buy a vegetable plate from the supermarket.
Buy some small potato rolls, and put sliced ham, cheese, and mayo in them.
Little smokie sausages cooked in BBQ sauce, with toothpicks.
a couple of ideas:
1)mix room-temperature cream cheese with indian chutney and serve with your favorite crackers.
2)heat 2 cloves of chopped garlic and add a can of great northern beans. after 10 minutes of cooking, mash them and add some black pepper, thyme and rosemary. serve as a dip.
I LOVE these taco bites my mother makes. Put taco meat misxed with salsa and cheese in wonton wrappers that you place into a muffin tin. Put them in the oven for a bit, then top them with sour cream, and black olives. Yum.
The ingredients in this easy recipe sound very odd, but the results are delicious. I usually double the amount of sauce so there's plenty.
Sweet and Sour Meatballs
1 (12 fluid ounce) bottle chile sauce (tomato based, not hot)
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 cup grape jelly
2 pound bag precooked, frozen meatballs
In a slow cooker combine chili sauce, lemon juice and grape jelly. Stir in meatballs and cook on high for 3 hours.
Use a loaf of cocktail rye, some swiss or mozarella cheese slices, and pepperoni to make toasted appetizers that are easy and delicious. Just place pieces of cocktail rye bread on a cookie sheet, then a pepperoni slice, and a slice of cheese on top. Broil for 5 minutes or until cheese melts, allow to cool just for a minute and you're ready to enjoy!
bacon wrapped sea scallops. yum. take some fresh sea scallops, wrap them in good thin raw bacon, use toothpicks to hold it in place, and pop them in a really Hot oven until the bacon crisps. yummy!
