One that we do is stuffing a pickled sweet pepper with a mixture of cream cheese, green onions, and black olives. The presentation looks cool too.

Anchovy Swiss Toasts Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups grated Swiss cheese

2 ounces chopped anchovies

1 tablespoon chopped chives

1 tsp dill weed

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

20 slices miniature rye bread

Shrimp Spread

A tasty spread. Salad shrimp are the teeny tiny ones, which also have the benefit of being inexpensive. If using larger shrimp, chop them before adding to the cream cheese mixture. You could reserve a few shrimp to decorate the top too.

Ingredients:

1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened

1 tablespoon ketchup

2 tablespoons Miracle Whip salad dressing

1/4 teaspoon dry mustard

1/4 teaspoon garlic salt

1/4 teaspoon Worchestershire sauce

1 can (4 oz.) salad shrimp, drained

2 tablespoons chopped dill pickl

Directions:

Combine cream cheese, ketchup, Miracle Whip, mustard, garlic salt and Worchestershire sauce. Blend until smooth.

Stir in shrimp and dill pickle.

Pack into a serving dish, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Serve with crackers to spread it on.

Baked Cranberry Brie

Easy to make, and very attractive and tasty. You can make it without cranberry sauce too, but I like it with, it adds a nice zip - especially if you use homemade cranberry sauce.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup butter, melted

4 sheets phyllo pastry

1 round (8 oz.) of Brie cheese

3 tablespoons cranberry sauce

Directions:

Brush the top of each sheet of phyllo pastry with melted butter. Layer them on top of each other.

Place the Brie in the centre of the pastry. Top with the cranberry sauce.

Bring the phyllo dough up to enclose the Brie, and twist the edges together. Brush with the remaining butter.

Bake at 400 degrees F. for 20 minutes, until the crust is nicely browned. Let cool for 20 minutes, and cut into triangles to serve.

Cheddar Shortbread

These are really tasty. You can eliminate the chopped pecans if you want, and use fancy cookie cutter shapes for a festive appetizer.

Ingredients:

3/4 cup butter, softened

1/4 teaspoon dry mustard

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

1 1/2 cups grated old cheddar cheese

1 1/4 cups flour

Directions:

Combine butter, mustard, and pepper in food processor, and whirl to combine. Add cheese and whirl again to mix.

Add flour and pulse just until blended.

Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface, to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with desired small cookie cutter and transfer to cookie sheet.

Sprinkle chopped pecans over the top of the cookies.

Bake at 350 degrees F. for about 20 minutes, until lightly browned on the bottom.
2 cans White Albacore Tuna

1 small Onion minced

2 tbl spoon Lemon Juice

1 tbl spoon Tabasco Sauce (more for hotter)

1/2 cup Chili Sauce (add more if desired)

Flake tuna in a bowl. Sprinkle Lemon Juice over tuna and let marinate for 10 - 15 mins.

Sprinkle Tabasco Sauce over tuna then add onions, Chili Sauce and mix well. Chill in Refridgerator covered until ready to serve. Can be served on crackers of any variety.
roasted snails(they eat em in london)
Garlic/onion cheese spread:

two 8 ounce packages of cream cheese

one jar of Kraft Old English cheese

one 8 ounce jar of cheese whiz

1/2 teaspoon Worcherstershire

1/2 teaspoon each of garlic powder and onion powder [ do the spices to your taste]

Bring everything to room temp, mix everything in food processor or mixer. Chill, taste it and add more spice if needed. Can also form into a ball and roll in pecans, but I like it as a spread. Serve with Ritz crackers. The people at work beg for this, I bring it to work a lot. Best to make it the night before, and let the spices steep through it.

If there are guys at your party, try mixing Velveeta and chunky salsa, add some cut up black olives and serve with taco chips. or, mix Velveeta with canned chili [with or without beans]. Guys love cheese and spicey stuff. So do girls. I served the taco one at a meeting, it was gone in minutes.
Got this recipe from Paula Deen on the Food Network. Get a package of sesame breadsticks in the bread isle of the supermarket. One package of uncooked bacon. One cup of Parmesan cheese grated. and about one tablespoon of garlic powder. cut the bacon package in half to split each piece. starting from one end of the breadstick roll the bacon around it. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper for better non stick. continue until you either run out of bacon or breadstick. Bake about 30 minutes or more or less at 350 degrees. Just until the bacon starts to really brown but don't burn the sticks. as soon as they come out dredge them in the cheese and garlic salt mixture. Delicious!
